Etherlink II

This family of DSL Modems and Extenders operates within the 802.3ah standard offering more bandwidth, compatibility and manageability. All models are protected against over-voltage resulting from line failures and lightning. If your route is longer than the 802.3ah standard allows, the modems fall back into the standard G.SHDSL operating mode. The same will happen on routes that do not meet the circuit quality needs of the extenders. Even with the G.SHDSL Standard a maximum bandwidth of 2.3 Mbps is possible, long range. These new generation Extenders are capable of operating at up to 30km depending on the quality, length and diameter of your wires.
Choose from models supporting 2, 4 or 8 wires with or without addition E1 interface.

Even if some of the wires fail when using the 4 or 8 wire modems the route will still operate with lower bandwidth. The 802.3ah management makes it then possible to check the remote extender.

The new generation extenders are sold as single items. Please order a pair of modems for a complete link. To build a "Y-style" application order one 4 wire modem and two 2 wire modems. With many older copper circuits it is best to test the modems in operation on your own wires. Call the Black Box Tech Support team about arranging a test on our sale or return terms.
